Morginno

Moirans

Morginno is Moirans, in the land of the Allobroges, on the road from Vienne over the Mont Genèvre into Italy. It takes its name from the little river Morge, which flows past it into the Isère, and several inscriptions have been found there. The list of places compiled in Ravenna writes Maurogena. The map gives fourteen miles from Tourdan, but the real distance is about thirty-four, so either the figure is miscopied or a station between them has been lost.
