Mursa Minor

Kisárpás

Mursa Minor, the lesser Mursa, was the town of Mursella at Petrijevci in Croatia, ten Roman miles, about fifteen kilometres, before Mursa itself, the Roman Osijek. An inscription calls it the municipium of the Murselenses, a self-governing town, and roof tiles of the Fourteenth Legion have been found there. The pilgrim from Bordeaux changed horses here, at Mersella. It must not be confused with the Mursella in Upper Pannonia. The map sets Mursa Minor nine Roman miles from Iovallium.
