Metridatis Regnum

Metridatis Regnum, the kingdom of Mithridates, is a lofty name for a small road station. It is said to have come from the sign of an inn, an idea older research thought not impossible. The Ravenna list turns the name into Multridis, and the station has been looked for at er Rihali. The map counts six Roman miles, about nine kilometres, from Meleagrum and seven on to Thanna.
