Liso
Aikiríkos, Άγ. Κήρυκος
Liso is Lissos, on the south-west coast of Crete west of today's Sougia, in a bay shut in by mountains and open only to the sea. From the late 4th century BC it belonged, with Elyros, Hyrtakina and Tarrha, to the league of the mountain dwellers. Its sanctuary of Asclepius with a healing spring drew people from far beyond the town. Remains of a theatre, baths and fountains survive. The map counts sixteen miles from Cantano and thirty on to a stop whose name is lost.
