Just a name with no picture marks Cisamos on the road across Crete, set between Cydonia and Lappa. The map puts it eight Roman miles from Cydonia and nine from Lappa. The place is usually identified with Kastéli on Crete, though that location is marked as uncertain. The Greek geographer Strabo mentions a Kisamos as the little harbour town of Aptera, a port serving that city, and scholars have connected the name on the map with this harbour.
