Lintomagi is Lintomagus, a station on the road from Cassel towards Amiens in the north of France, probably at Brimeux on the Canche, though Montreuil has long been proposed. Neither its site nor its spelling is certain: some early copies read Luttomagi, and some have suggested Lutomagus, after a Gaulish man called Lutos. The ending magus, a field, shows that the name is Celtic.
