Isaria
? Zengibar Kalesi
Isaria is a slip for Isaura, the chief town of the Isaurians by the Taurus, whose villages the geographer Strabo calls dens of robbers that long troubled Rome, until Publius Servilius subdued them and earned the name Isauricus. There were in fact two towns of that name, an old and a new Isaura; the old one probably lay at Zengibar Kalesi, though some reverse the two. Servilius forced Isaura to surrender by diverting the river that gave it water. Later Amyntas began building a residence there but was killed before it was finished, and the historian Ammianus found only faint traces of its former glory.
