Iovis Pago

Veliki Popovac?

Iovis Pago, the village of Jupiter, was a station on the road from Viminacium to Horreum Margi in Upper Moesia, perhaps at Veliki Popovac in Serbia; older research suggested Venčane near Petrovac. The pilgrim from Bordeaux lists it, and the list of places compiled in Ravenna shortens it to Pago. The map sets Iovis Pago ten Roman miles from Municipium and twelve from Idimum, though the stretch onward has no starting mark.
