Abu Greiya or Bezah? (Barrington)
Dios, the watering station of Zeus, was a fort on the desert road from Coptos to Berenike, perhaps at Abu Greiya. The map keeps the Greek form of the name, while the Roman register of routes translates it into Latin as Iovis, of Jupiter; notes on potsherds from the desert also call the fort Tatoudios. Its foundation inscription dates it to AD 115 or 116, but the excavated remains suggest it was built a little earlier, together with Didymoi and Aphrodites.
