Diotahi
Diotahi and Derta lie together on an island in the marshes that the map labels Paludes, joined by a single stretch of sixty Roman miles that connects with nothing else. The name may be a slip for Biotahi, since B and D are easily confused on the map, and would then be the Arabic Bataih, the marshes: the wide wetlands of the lower Euphrates and Tigris, which classical writers called the Chaldaean lake. The Ravenna list writes Diothaze.
