Cymiza

Bitlis

Cymiza was a fort in the south of Armenia, on the road from Van to Tigranocerta, and its ruins lie near Bitlis. The Ravenna list writes Dimiza, and some early printed editions of the map misread the name as Cymiha. A fortress called Qumiz, also known as Giwer, is mentioned in the Sharafnama, a Kurdish chronicle, and has been linked with it. The map counts twenty to Zanserio and twenty-two on to Dyzanas.
