Catara is known only from this map, a station in Cappadocia on a road running from Comana towards Samosata. Its site is unclear. Going by its place on the map, it may be the prehistoric mound of Bozhüyük, north of Göksun. Older research suggested Dallıkavak instead, which would send the road on a loop to the north; in that case the station really belonged above the road from Comana to Melitene, where a drawn mountain range left no room, and the mapmaker may have moved it and its stretch of road further down.
