Road station

Catispi

Here the map draws Catispi on a road out of Raugonia, thirty-nine Roman miles along, with Sorve twenty-seven miles beyond, yet the same run of names appears again on the road from Artaxata, and older research held that these names and figures do not belong on this road at all. The station lay in the east of Armenia, on the road to Nakhchivan, and the Ravenna list calls it Caspi. One suggestion hears in the name Katish, the Armenian name for the Cadusians, with an old plural ending.
