Road station
Asarino
? bei Keklikoluk, Göksün ?
Asarino lay in Cataonia, in the south of Cappadocia, on the road from Comana to Melitene. The name is found nowhere else and is probably garbled: it may go back to a road-book entry 'a Sarico', meaning 'from Saricum', run together and miscopied, a name perhaps taken from the nearby river Saros, now the Göksu. That would make the station the Siricis of the Roman register of routes, the first stop after Comana and at the same distance. Siricis is placed near Keklikoluk, where many milestones have been found, because a road to Cucusus branched off there.
