Zaca

Cap de Fer (Barrington) · zwischen Ain Mokra und Ain Barbar (Miller)

Zaca was a harbour place on a small bay by Cap de Fer on the Algerian coast, a bay that gave ships little shelter from the wind. The map sets it seven Roman miles, about ten kilometres, from Culucitani and eight from Muzarur. The Ravenna list writes it both Zaca and Zacca. One suggestion compared the name with Uzikath, a place in the historian Polybius, but that link has been rightly doubted. The site was lived in from Hellenistic into late antique times.
