Ochirea
Šāhpūr oder Ja `quābād, Jacobabad (Miller)
Ochirea has been linked with Arigaion, a town of the Guraeans that Alexander the Great entered in the autumn of 327 BC. Curtius, who calls it Acadira, says the inhabitants had fled into the mountains, leaving it empty and burnt, and Alexander thought its position so important that he had his general Craterus rebuild it. The town was sought in the Bajaur district, on the west side of the Panjkora river, and its name contains the Sanskrit word gaya, a household or dwelling. Another identification places the station at Shahpur or at Jacobabad.
