Assabe

Assabe was a place in Chaldaea, on the road that led from Babylon and Seleucia to Charax Spasinu at the head of the Persian Gulf. Older research looked for it north of Basra, at Kut Frengi. The Ravenna list writes Asabe. The map sets it twenty-five Roman miles from Anar and the same distance from Epara.
