Ad Rubras

Henchir Ain Kerna

Ad Rubras takes its name from the Latin word for red, and it was a station on the road from Cirta to Theveste in Numidia, six Roman miles, about nine kilometres, short of Gadiaufala. Its site is now placed at Henchir Ain Kerna in Algeria, though older research left it undetermined. Another station of the same name lay in Mauretania Caesariensis, on the great inland road of that province, thirty miles from Albulae, now Ain Témouchent.
