Ad Scrofulas

Ad Scrofulas lay in the Iron Gates gorge of the Danube, near Bosman in Serbia, on the river road from Viminacium towards Durostorum. A Roman inscription carved into the rock of the gorge in 92 or 93 records the repair of the road of the Scrofulae, ruined, it says, by age and by the onslaught of the Danube; other rock inscriptions of Titus and Domitian tell of work on the same road.
