Road station

Ad Silanum

Puech-Crémat-Bas, Cm. Nasbinals?

Ad Silanum was a station on the road from Rodez towards Javols. Its site depends on where one places the next station, Anderitum, and older research offered many answers: Saint-Côme on the Lot, Estables, Castelnau-de-Mandailles, Chaudes-Aigues and others, several of which do not even lie in the right direction from Rodez. The current suggestion, with a question mark, is Puech-Crémat-Bas near Nasbinals. A milestone found at Espalion shows eighteen leagues. One older copy misread the name as Ad Itlanum.
