Ad Silanos, at the fountains, was a station on the road from Aquileia over the Alps to Virunum, perhaps at Artegna in Friuli, below Gemona; a silanus was a spout of running water, so the stop probably grew up around a spring. Others have looked for it in the upper Soča valley near Kobarid. Apart from this map, nothing records the place.
