Symmachi

Mendour (Barrington) · Hr. Fegusia (Miller)

Symmachi, a genitive that suggests 'at Symmachus's place', lay on the road from Lambaesis to the oases beyond the Aurès, at Mendour or at Henchir Fegusia, where Latin inscriptions have been found. The map counts fifteen miles from Ad Basilicam Diadumene and nine on to Ad Duo Flumina. The Ravenna list writes Sumachi, and some older copies of the map read Simmachi.
