Cenopolis
Maaten el-Agla? Gasr el-Gaama? (Barrington)
Cenopolis appears in Greek as Kainopolis in the geographer Ptolemy, and the place reaches back from late antiquity through Roman times to the Hellenistic age. On the map it lies twelve Roman miles from Callis and twenty-one from Balacris, the next stop, which the map labels as a temple of Asclepius. The Ravenna list writes the name Caenopolis. Its site is uncertain, perhaps Maaten el-Agla in Libya.
