Callis

El Leucia (Miller) · Sidi Nuah? (Barrington)

Callis was a station in Cyrenaica, twenty Roman miles, about thirty kilometres, from Ptolemais and twelve more on to Cenopolis. The Ravenna list records it twice, once as Callis and once as Gallis, and the Galla or Galia named by the Roman writer Pliny may be the same place. Settled in Roman and late antique times, it has no certain site; perhaps it lay at El Leucia in Libya.
