Ad Piscinam

(N Biskra) (Barrington) · Hammam et Biskra (Miller)

Ad Piscinam, at the pool, lay at Hammam near the oasis of Biskra; the town there was Vescera, which Ptolemy already knew. Bishops of Vescera are named in 411 and again in 484. The map counts nineteen miles, about twenty-eight kilometres, from Mesar Filia and thirty-three on to Gemellas. The Ravenna list writes Pissinas, and some Latin inscriptions from the place are known.
