Road station
Voconi
Caldes de Malavella
Voconi stands at the very edge of what survives of Spain on the map: no stretch leads into it. The full name was Aquae Voconiae, the waters of the Voconii, probably after an estate of that family, which held land in the province. It lay on the road from Barcelona to the pass over the Pyrenees, at the spa town of Caldes de Malavella. The silver cups from Vicarello and the Roman register of routes both name it. The map gives twelve miles to Gerunda, today Girona.
