Teneapulo

near S. Paolo di Civitate (Barrington)

Listen to the story

Teneapulo is a copyist's run-together of Teano Apulo, Teanum of the Apulians, so called to tell it apart from the Teanum in Campania. It stood on the lower Fortore near San Paolo di Civitate, a border town facing the Frentani, and struck coins in the Oscan language under the name Tiati. Walls, an aqueduct and temples remain. On the map a branch road to Bovianum starts here, although it should most likely begin at Larinum.
