Tegulicio

Vetren

Tegulicio, Teglicio in the Roman register of routes, was a small Danube fort of Lower Moesia near today's Vetren, a short way upstream from Silistra. A late Roman list of garrisons names its troops as soldiers of Moesia. The map gives thirteen miles from Nigrinianis and eleven, about sixteen kilometres, on to Durostorum, today Silistra; the register has twelve for both stretches, and some older copies also read twelve for the second.
