Tegulata

La Grande-Pugere

Tegulata was a station on the Via Aurelia east of Aix, placed near La Grande-Pugère. Its distance from Aix leads to the monument known as the Pyramid of Marius, and remains of the Roman road were observed at Le Tholonet and below Le Sengle. Other proposals were Trets, Saint-Maximin and Auriol. The list of places compiled in Ravenna writes Tegulicia. The name itself suggests roof tiles, tegulae.
