Sublabione

Seben (AK) · Ponte Gardena or Chiusa · Benediktinerkloster Seben bei Klausen (Miller)

Listen to the story

Sublabione lay below the rock of Säben, above the narrows of Klausen in the Eisack valley of South Tyrol, where a Roman fort stood; the rock later carried the seat of a bishop until the tenth century and is now a convent. A medieval charter still speaks of the narrows below Sabiona. The map puts the station thirty-five Roman miles from Vipitenum and thirteen from Pons Drusi.
