Stiriate

Liezen im Ennstal

Listen to the story

Stiriate was a station at Liezen in the Enns valley of Styria, on the road that climbed from the Danube over the Pyhrn pass and ran on through the Liesing valley to the Mur, a route later known as the Salt Road. Milestones help to fix its position. The map sets it fifteen Roman miles from Gabromagus and fifteen from Surontium.
