Road station

Storgosia

Pleven

Storgosia lay at today's Pleven, on the road that led south from Esco on the Danube towards Melta at the foot of the Haemus mountains. The map gives seven miles from Ad Putea and eleven on to Dorionibus; one old copy read the eleven as ten, and an early edition misprinted the name. Little more of the Roman station is recorded, though the town that later grew on the spot is now one of the larger cities of Bulgaria.
