Road station

Salsovia

Mahmudia

Salsovia, at today's Mahmudia in the Danube delta, was a station of the road towards the river's mouth. The map gives forty-one miles from Noviodunum and twenty-four onward to Ad Stoma. From here the Roman register of routes takes an inland road to Histria instead, by Halmyris on the Razim lake, Valle Domitiana and Ad Salices, seventy-seven miles in all, against eighty-six along the map's line by the coast.
