Road station

Saloca

Krumpendorf

Listen to the story

Saloca was the last station before Virunum, the capital of Noricum, near Krumpendorf on the Wörthersee, and it is the station that ties this road firmly to the route over the Pontebba pass. A milestone found here names Virunum as the point from which the miles were counted, and its figure agrees well with the map's. The map sets Saloca nine Roman miles from Tasinemeti and eleven from Virunum.
