Listen to the story
Ragandone, the Roman Ragando, was a station with lodgings halfway between Celeia and Poetovio, the Roman Celje and Ptuj in Slovenia, probably in the area of Poljčane and Studenice. The map and a Roman register of routes both set it eighteen Roman miles, about twenty-seven kilometres, from each town, while the pilgrim from Bordeaux, travelling by a longer way, counts twenty-four to each. He also names a place to change horses in between, Pultovia.
