Nedino

Nadin

Listen to the story

Nedino is Nedinum, today Nadin in the hinterland of Zadar in Croatia, a Liburnian hill town on the road from Iader to Burnum. The Roman town grew up in the age of Augustus on an older native settlement, and its leading families stayed local, keeping old social customs and cults. The Roman jurist Iavolenus Priscus came from here. From the second century fewer inscriptions were set up, a sign of decline shared by the whole region. Excavations on the Gradina hill have uncovered a Liburnian cemetery.
