Road station

Graviacis

Stadl a.d. Murr (Barrington)

Listen to the story

Graviacis was a station on the road that ran down the Mur valley from the Lungau into Carinthia, probably at Stadl an der Mur, or across the river at Steindorf or Paal. Older research also looked for it at Turrach, Murau or Tamsweg. The map sets Graviacis sixteen Roman miles, about twenty-four kilometres, from In Murio and fourteen from Tarnasici.
