Gerunda
Girona
Cerunda, better known as Gerunda, is Girona. Two letters of the name are now illegible on the map, which seems to begin it with a C. The town was founded probably early in the first century BC in the rich hill country between the Ter and the Oña, and the Roman naturalist Pliny counts its people among the communities with Latin rights under the court of Tarragona. Later it was famous as the city of the martyr Felix, praised by the Christian poet Prudentius, and it became a bishopric and a Visigothic mint.
