Road station
Epidotio
Vital
Listen to the story
Epidotio, the Roman Epidotium, was a station on the road from Senia to Iader in Croatia, perhaps at Lešće on the Gacka river, though others place it near Vital. The map is the first source to name a town so; the list of places compiled in Ravenna writes Ethetia. Older research took it for Bibium, the fork where a Roman register of routes turns off towards Siscia, but others reject that. Finds nearby include a monument to Mithras at Sinac and, at Kvarte, three Roman measuring vessels.
