Egeta

Brza Palanka

Egeta is Brza Palanka on the Danube in Serbia, a place older than the Roman conquest that became an important garrison after Rome gave up Dacia: a legionary detachment, a troop of shield-bearing horsemen and a squadron of the Danube fleet were stationed here, and legionary tiles have been found. The Greek geographer Ptolemy already lists Egeta. On the map two roads leave from here, one to Drobeta and one to Clevora.
