Ebutiana, known only from this map, lay somewhere in the hills of Samnium between Aesernia, Telesia and Saepinum, perhaps near Roccaromana, or near Ailano, where roads around Monte Cappella met the road to Allifae. The distances here do not work as written: one figure of nine Roman miles may be a miscopied twenty-nine, which would at last make sense of the route.
