Dorista
Dorista, which the Ravenna list also records, reminded older research of Borsippa, the town south of Babylon known for its linen workshops, its school of astronomers and the large bats that people there ate. Dorista itself, however, must lie east of Babylon near the Tigris, and was placed opposite Omm el Tabul. The map counts forty-five Roman miles from Seleucia and twenty on to Abara, though the start of that second stretch is not drawn.
