Ad Renvm, At the Rhine, is a puzzle on the map. The Rhine flows into Lake Constance west of Bregenz, so a station of this name belongs before Bregenz, perhaps at Rheineck, but the map puts it after Bregenz, on the road heading east into Raetia. Either a copyist moved the name, or the map has misplaced Bregenz itself and the course of the Rhine. The figures fit the first idea: the Roman register of routes gives twenty miles from Arbor Felix to Bregenz, close to the ten and nine the map would give with the station in the right place.
