Castra Tragana

Sîmbotin?

Castra Tragana is the map's spelling of Castra Traiana, Trajan's camp, a fort on the Olt valley road in Roman Dacia, perhaps at Sâmbotin near Râmnicu Vâlcea in Romania. The name recalls the emperor who conquered Dacia; little else is recorded of the camp. The map sets it twelve Roman miles from Burridava and nine from Arutela.
