Bontobrice
Boppard
Bontobrice is Boudobriga, today Boppard on the Rhine in Germany. In the middle of the fourth century a fort was built here for a unit of catapult troops, with twenty-eight round towers, and its walls still stand in places nine metres high. Its bath house was in use until around 355, and a church was later built over it. The map's odd spelling comes from a misread small u that became an n. Two milestones found at nearby Salzig count twenty-nine and twenty-eight Gallic leagues from Mainz.
