Road station

Arialbinnum

(road station in Basel area) (Barrington) · Burgfeldden bei Basel (Miller)

Arialbinnum was a road station near Basel, perhaps at Burgfelden on the edge of the city or at Binningen, though its exact site is unknown. It stood on the road from Vindonissa down the Rhine towards Strasbourg, not far from Augusta Raurica. The map actually writes it twice, on two different roads, once as Arialbinnum and once as Arialbinum, and the distance figures around it seem to have run together. Older research also tried Mulhouse and other places in the plain of Alsace.
