Road station
unnamed/illegible, no. ID 3758
On the road into Tuder, today Todi in Umbria, the map makes a nameless step just in front of the town's picture, twenty Roman miles after Vetona. Hemmed in between the Apennines and the Tiber, the copyist stepped the line down so that the road would meet the little building at the eaves rather than run into its roof, and so that he would not need a curve. On the far side of Todi he had to resort to a similar trick once more.
