Road station

unnamed/illegible, no. ID 3755

Leaving Vercellae, today Vercelli in Italy, towards Cutiae, the map's road makes a nameless step right beside the town symbol. There was no room left for the distance figure, thirteen, and the copyist did not want the red road line to cross the river, so he added a small step and set the number on it. If a station was meant here after all, it could only be a bridge over the river Victium; but the list of places compiled in Ravenna knows nothing of one.
