Road station
unnamed/illegible, no. ID 3702
Just after Ad Pontem Campanum, the Campanian Bridge, in northern Campania in Italy, the road on the map drops by a small step that carries no name, only a distance figure. The long name of the bridge station had left no room: running the road straight on would have cut through the river Savo and into the mountains. Rather than draw a curve or a long slanting line, the copyist added this little step, set the figure on it and brought the road back to the level of the next stations. From the step it is three Roman miles to Urbanis.
