Stailuco

Listen to the story

Stailuco was a station on the Danube road from Carnuntum to Arrabona, the Roman Győr, and apart from this map no ancient source names it. Its site is uncertain: older research placed it near the sugar factory at Lébény, judging Hochstraß too close to Győr. The map sets Stailuco thirteen Roman miles from Ad Flexum and twelve from the river Arrabo, the Rába, which it draws as the next stop.
